SISI - The Speculative Institute for Social Interventions is looking for alternative approaches to the communal. SISI calls for the reoccupation of the city through speculative places of digitality. It becomes the underground of possible new city types, a potential catalyst for social interaction and thus creates spaces for social transformation and new relationships.

For the duration of Vienna Design Week 2019, SISI is founding a joint institute together with the residents and visitors of the ninth district and asking the question of what meaning community can actually still have in today's city life. As part of this, daily city walks, talks and other events will take place, inviting people to discuss the city as a place of community.

SISI- Das Spekulative Institut für Soziale Interventionen sucht nach alternativen Ansätzen des Gemeinschaftlichen. SISI fordert die Neubesetzung der Stadt durch spekulative Orte der Digitalität. Es wird zum Untergrund möglicher neuer Stadttypen, zum potenziellen Katalysator sozialer Interaktion und schafft somit Räume für soziale Transformation und neue Beziehungen.

Für die Dauer der Vienna Design Week 2019  gründet SISI zusammen mit den BewohnerInnen und BesucherInnen des neunten Bezirks ein gemeinsames Institut und stellt sich der Frage welche Bedeutung Gemeinschaft im heutigen Stadtleben eigentlich noch haben kann. Im Rahmen dessen finden täglich Stadtspaziergänge, Talks und andere Veranstaltungen statt, die zur Diskussion über die Stadt als Ort der Gemeinschaft einladen.
